Maizan Ahmed Maniku, Maldives Fishermen’s Association, presents John Burton, Chairman of IPNLF, Award (c) IPNLF.

IPNLF is delighted to have received an award from the Maldives Fishermen’s Association (MFA), recognising the contributions and good work we have done in the Maldives to date.

The award was presented to Chairman John Burton by Maizan Ahmed Maniku, President of the MFA, at the Annual Meeting of the Fishermen’s Association held on 13th May 2014.

The Maldives Fishermen’s Association also presented awards to other senior and well-known people who have helped develop and shape the fishing industry.

IPNLF and the Government of the Maldives have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding, formally committing to cooperation on future sustainability initiatives.

We are very grateful for the recognition by the Maldives Fishermen’s Association and continue to look ahead to help develop the Maldives pole-and-line and handline fisheries.
