Now available, IPNLF’s fifth Annual Report shows the progress that IPNLF is making in meeting its strategic ambitions aimed at progressing the global one-by-one tuna agenda.
As well as documenting its achievements over the course of the last financial year, such as receiving the SeaWeb Seafood Champion Award for Advocacy, the IPNLF Annual Report 2017/18 highlights the innovative ways in which IPNLF continued to support and develop an increasing number of one-by-one tuna fisheries and the communities that are reliant upon them.
As part of this commitment, IPNLF launched its Social Sustainability Manifesto, through which it is placing the social wellbeing of coastal fishing communities at the heart of its work.
The new report also illustrates how IPNLF is guided and influenced by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and how it aligns with these holistic international targets, enabling it to make a positive contribution towards achieving sustainable development.
Some of the ways in which IPNLF has been demonstrating the considerable importance of one-by-one tuna to markets globally and using this influence to drive further change are also profiled in the report. New actions included co-hosting the world’s first One-by-One Tuna Fisheries Conference, which brought many international stakeholders together to explore collaborative ways that we can advance the sector.
A lot of IPNLF’s work has been made possible through the support of its Member network, which has grown to more than 50 participating organisations from across the entire tuna supply chain, as well as from the continued, generous backing of funders. IPNLF thanks all who shares its vision and continues to support its work.
