Andrew Harvey is Special Advisor for Indonesia; in collaboration with the Government of Indonesia, the Association of Indonesian Pole & Line and Hand Line Fisheries (AP2HI), and other key partners, he leads our Indonesian fishery improvement portfolio.
Andrew is a fisheries and marine biodiversity specialist with over 13 year’s experience spanning government, NGO and private sector projects. Andrew has been based in Indonesia and working throughout Southeast Asia for over seven years, where his roles have included Team Leader for USAID’s Indonesia Marine and Climate Support project, Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for ADB’s COREMAP-CTI project, and Team Leader for TNC’s full-size GEF Komodo National Park project.
Andrew has a particular interest in the application of mobile and communication technologies to enhance democratisation, transparency and accountability in the marine and fisheries sector. He is the Founder of MantaWatch, a Kinship Conservation Fellow, and holds an M.Sc. in Oceanography from the University of Southampton and B.Sc. in Marine Biology from the University of Portsmouth.
