Elsabe is based in Stellenbosch, in the Western Cape Winelands of South Africa. As Personal Assistant (PA) to IPNLF’s Managing Director, Elsabe provides a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service, and also supports team members’ and other stakeholders’ queries.
Elsabe is fascinated by one-by-one tuna fisheries and their social, cultural and economic importance in coastal communities around the world. She strongly supports the vision and mission of IPNLF.
As well as an interest in one-by-one tuna fishing, Elsabe brings over 20 years of PA experience. She holds a BA Linguistics degree from the University of Stellenbosch and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education. After completing her degree, she worked as a translator at the South African Parliament for two years. Her experience also includes teaching languages for two years and doing freelance editing and proofreading for various corporate companies in South Africa.
I have always supported responsible fishing and the protection of other marine species. IPNLF champions selective and low intensity fishing methods. I am therefore delighted to work in a positive environment and feel privileged to have the opportunity to learn and develop through my involvement in the organisation. I look forward to exploring the new opportunities and challenges that this role will bring.Elsabe Crockart
