Many countries depend heavily on tuna resources for food, security and nutrition, economic development, livelihoods, culture and recreation. The United Nations established World Tuna Day, 2 May, to raise awareness about the importance of tuna and to promote more sustainable fishing practices, such as one-by-one methods.
To celebrate World Tuna Day 2019, IPNLF launched its new film ‘Faces of Fishers‘ that introduces fishers from Indonesia, the Maldives, St Helena and the Canary Islands, comparing stories about why they chose to be fishers and why they champion one-by-one practices. Be among the first to meet these ocean heroes, and to help us share their story today
Watch, enjoy and share.
